charger replacement fuse needed

I have an Automatic car battery charger 83-1150-08
I am unsure of which fuse to use can anyone help? is did have an Orange 5amp on the underneath but I am unsure if this was the correct one replaced by someone else

Is 'Automatic' a brand name?

It sounds like a blade fuse to me.

Halfords will see one or a good car accessories shop.

Look on eBay for blade fuses and see if it matches.

5 or 10 amp would be a typical value of a charger.

In the main the blade fuse is to stop the rectifier being damaged if the leads are connected the wrong way around, and/or to protect should the rectifier go short circuit. They are fitted to the output. They come in 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7.5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 and 40 amp likely correct size is the same as the charger output or as close to the charger output as can be selected.
