cleaning window dirt

just after some advice
moved into a new house and looks like in the windows (when you open and where the window sits) has never been cleaned

full of dirt and muck
i was going to attempt to clean it with hot soapy water and elbow grease. but was wondering if there was an easier way to clean it?

A stiff nylon brush with hot water and GP cleaner such as flash will do it. Rinse off and lubricate moving parts. A paint brush will get into crevices.
