Cold shower

Have amixer shower that was too hot, descaled it & now can only get cold water!
there is a small thermostat in the unit that should be adjustable but doesn't seem to have any effect - should I just admit defeat & change the shower or is there something else to try

get a new cartridge for your existing mixer, (if you know the make & model) your merchant should be able to help
