Currently we have a combi boiler and an electric shower. Is there any way to get a power shower? All of them seem to require a tank which we obviously don't have.Is there such thing as an electric power shower? (ie,cold feed only) Thanks

You're limited by how fast you can heat the water.
Why not use the combi to provide the shower? Your electric shower will be max about 10kW, your combi min about 24kW, so, much better.

yeah you should get a decent shower of a combi boiler anyhow. all depends on the pressure of the incoming main.

if the pressures good enuff for the combi it should be good enuff for the shower id say
thermostatics are best and start at around £80

happy plumbing

Thanks guy's. I wonder why the house builders fitted an electric shower in that case? Costs? Is there any way to test if the pressure will be high enough? Our cold pressure is very good. I guess the gas bill will rise considerably but the electric will go down (all the lights go dim when the shower is running!!!)

quick question as well-had a quick look at these-is the temp pre set only or can you vary the temp on them? (as no two people like the same shower temp-ask any bloke/women!!!)

to be honest it isn't a bad idea to have an electric shower as well as a combi. The reason being when the combi breaks down you can still have a warm shower. It is a good back up to a combi.
