Will be bunging a flue liner down the chimney the weekend after next but have noticed the flaunching on the chimney looking a bit degraded. Seeing as my mate is lending me a cherry picker, I thought I'd just hack of the old flaunching and redo. It's a bit chilly in January and sod's law is it will be freezing and duff up my efforts.

Is there any concrete admixture I can use for this? I'm limited as the chimney is inaccessible without this cherry picker and it's now or never.

Also cover it with a load of old bed sheets or something. If you tie it right on a long string, getting it down again a week later might not be so impossible! Although that would be tricky! Might need ingenuity.

Like the remote removing cover. Just have to make sure it does come off from the ground with a rope. Otherwise it might be there for years!

You are better off using a rapid setting cement, rather than an admixture. And working fast.
