Just had new windows fitted - woke up this morning to discover condensation on the outside of the external panes on all windows at the back of the house. Is this normal?

If the weather has changed from being cold to mild quite rapidly moisture will condense on anything that is cold (e.g. glass). lt's all to do with the dewpoint - just physics and nature and nothing you can do about it.

As i understand it this is quite normal. We are having new windows fitted in a few weeks and were warned before hand by the glazing company to expect this. It is much more likely to occur if you have 'k' glass especially if the units are argon filled, as these insulate better than standard units, therefore the outside of the glass is quite cold and then IanDB's dewpoint comes into effect.
