Confused by this box

Can anyone tell me what this box is under the kitchen sink. It goes to either the washing machine or dishwasher (might be both) would be good to know what it does

It's a solenoid valve to shut off water supply to the appliance

It's a hose that's supposed to detect a leak/burst and shut itself off to prevent further damage.

That anti-flood device will not help when the plastic Y splitter that it is screwed onto, fractures. Keep a beady eye on it for leaks.

Remove the Y-piece, it will only leak in the end.

It measures how much water you're using and then calls the police
It also makes the machine go kaput just after your warranty is up
