Connect timer room stat to Potterton Gold combi

Really sorry about this question, because I suspect the answer is pretty simple.

I just had a Potterton Gold combi boiler fitted. Under the boiler are two wires. One goes to mains, the other has two cores and goes to a very old mechanical room stat in my hall.

I want a basic 7 day digital timer/stat to replace the old room stat. Can anyone recommend something cheap and easy, which I can DIY fit myself, using the existing wiring.

Plumbcentre own brand programmable room stat it is a rebranded honeywell catalogue number 340015 £37 plus vat.
The two wires are in and out not live and neutral just in case you didnt know
