My HW cylinder is 25m from my boiler house(integral to house).

My control system requires 3 connections to the tank stat.: live, along with heat demand and heat satisfied returns to wiring centre.

What cable is normally used?. Would a 1mm 3 core & earth be suitable?

Yes but dont forget heat resisting at the cylinder end and I guess the other end is going in to the central wiring junction box so unless its by an immediate source of heat then the 3 core and earth can run straight into that. Oh and dont forget to sleeve up the live condutors IE all of them !

hope the primaries are well lagged if they are doing a 50m run!

I assume this refers to the pipework rather than cables?
