After discovering the dangerous wiring in my loo today. I may also replace the consumer unit for a more up to date model. Which one is the best /most cost effective for replacing this MEM unit please?
The modern equivalent is the Eaton EAM1002H, which may be cheaper if you shop around. Thanks Adam it is the A100HE that I need.
Daft question but you never know!Cheers, the brown rcd doesn't work and I can't seem to find any new ones listed on the net hence why I thought of replacing it.
The four neutrals on the RHS of your cu have been installed in one terminal. They should be separated and placed in individual terminals in the same order as the associated MCB's.
How did you discover the dangerous wiring and what is dangerous about it? If you are worried about the CU and your electrics, get a PIR done. This will tell you if you need to replace anything.
I have only pushed the test button on the rcd which no longer trips the switch, whereas it used to about 6months ago...

Flick the switch off and on a few times, and then try the test button.
