I have just installed a new cooker hood, but not 100% happy about the wiring.
I removed a extractor fan and used the existing cable that supplied this extractor fan to provide the supply to the cooker hood. This supply came from the lighting circuit with no fused spur. Is it safe to provide a supply to the cooker hood this way, or do I have to put it through a fused spur?

Through a switched fuse spur, then you have local isolation of the hood.
What do the manufacturers installation instructions say ?

It depends on the rating of the fan motor, it probably draws more current than the extractor fan & may well overload the circuit with lights & fan running together,I would spur off the ring main.
