Have a cooker switch with neon, lights up fine when switch is turned on. However, when turned off at switch, the neon still glows faintly. This neon will only go off completely when I turn the cooker on by the nobs.

Switch has worked fine for nearly 3 years so guessing it's just faulty switch, but any idea how this is possible? Maybe neutral is still closed when supposed to be open?
