Coolant temperature sensor location for Meriva Life 1.6 8v?

Hi

Can anyone tell me where the coolant temperature sensor is located for a Meriva Life 1.6 8v (engine Z16SE) please?
I have the sensor and a Haynes manual but it's still not clear. And, do I have to remove other parts to access it or is it fairly straight forward? Image of how it looks under the bonnet is attached.

See the large hose that is below the yellow oil filler cap?
I'm pretty sure the sensor screws into the thermostat housing, where the end of that hose connects to.

Thank you! Found it, it was on the left side of the cylinder head.
