Hi,

Can anyone give me any advice on the best way to repair a crack in a corrugated sheet on a roof. Its letting in water and has been repaired in the past by simply covering the crack with duct tape - which, probably quite expectedly, hasn't worked.

Can this be fixed/repaired? Or will the sheet have to be replaced?

Whatever it is, the best way will always be replacement. Anything else can only be considered temporary.

Sorry Gary O - its the grey fibre sheets.

kb - temporary will do - need to stop the leak before it damages the room below any more...

You can get bitumen based paints that you could cake on that would do better than gaffer tape. Not pretty, and temporary, but would probably seal up a crack.

Google 'blackjack paint'

You would be better to use flexacryle with the fibre glass tape, a small tin will do paint it over the crack and then apply the fibre glass tape, and then you get a big blob on your brush and dab the tape until the tape disappears.
