Hi there,

I recently fitted a box section 32-1000 profile roof with a Polyester finish in Slate Blue:

The supplier I purchased this from cut it down to size and subsequently the edges are raw metal, rough and exposed. There is also the odd scratch in the finish from transport.

The question is what should I treat and paint these bits with to protect them and match the finish as best as possible? Any tips on surface preparation also?

It will be as good as anything, but do use the primer first.
Hammerites Kurust is a good rust inhibitor, too.
If you want to give it as good a chance as possible, file the square edges slightly round to avoid a sharp paint corner.
John :)
