hello all ,first post , hope it is not too basic

i tried using an angle grinder to cut some stone coping blocks today, managed to cut half opf one before shredding cutting disc after one minute , i feel problem was due to cutting down thru block rather than cutting back and forth across block. Is this correct or should I be using a different technique altogether

thanks for your help

It's not different technique which you should be using, but a different blade. Get a diamond disk, and it will fly through.

Even the cheap ones from Aldi/market/poundland will be better than a traditional disk.

Anyway, you should not press on an abrasive disk, but just gently move it back and forth. If you press down hard, it will not cut quicker, but will just wear quicker.
