I have creasing tiles and an engineering brick on top of my garden wall, some of the engineering bricks have become flakey, property is around 30 yrs old. I am looking to remove these and thought best to remove the bricks and the tiles down to the first row of bricks, then replace with new. What is the best way to remove the tiles and engineering bricks without damaging the rest of the wall ?

The easiest way to do it and reduce the risk of damage is simply with a hammer and bolster chisel.
Starting at one end, you use the chisel sideways (ie along the direction of the wall) and at a shallow angle.
Take the top soldier course off first, and then tackle the tiles.

You really need to get under the bricks/tiles to break the bond - may not be so easy with a disc cutter.
