In the process of renovating 1920's property, solid brick walls.
It has slate dpc but over the years grd lvl has crept up and damp has caused probs.
Thinking of digging trench around walls, bitumen up to above air brick lvl, stick 1000g dpm to bitumen, extend dpm below grd lvl - below slate dpc - curving the dpm for approx 500mm dia stone filled french drain, et voila, base of walls damp proofed.
Thought this might be a cheaper way than Bituthene.
Or am I a ****? (yes,yes,yes, the **** thing is a given.....)
