Data Cable Engineer Training

Has / Is anyone here done the training for this?

I'm not sure what the chances are of getting work in this area.
I've spoken to the training provider but I need a lee biased opinion.

Not sure if this would be an easy... ish industry to get into?

Not sure about data cabling but I did an MCSE course a few years back and ended up knowing lots of numbers and codes but nothing practical. The exams were £100 a throw and designed to make you fail. It was useful on a personal level but there were no jobs at the end of it. In fact, the OS we studied was on the way out by the end of the course. Personally I would be a bit wary of training companies, go for college if possible.

Certainly wouldn't pay for training to do it. If you have similar experience you can pick it up really easily, and if you have no experience, no one will take you on cos you'll be far too slow.

Day rate is about £80-100, short contracts, and not loads of work out there either.

I'll do the training through the jobcentre, booked up at a college and see how the information day pans out

trying to sort out the truth by digging all the crap away is hard work..
