So.
Ive got an existing concrete patio which slopes towards the house.
Thers a 8" or so drop from the back door to the patio

Im planing to have decking so that you walk out from kitchen to deck and its all one level.

Then gravel surround.

Ive got a beam joist at 2400.

This joist hits the concrete (as its sloped) on the far end, when ive got it at the desired height near the house.

What advice/options do i have?

Ive heard of plastic shims to push the joist that would be in contact with patio, up.

Lay timber across the end and level that, then all timber to it will be level assuming they are level at house end.
Don't like the idea of ground sloping into house holding rain.
If you lay decking out from the house it will be very slippery, you need to walk across ribs for any grip. diagonal is best , herringbone pattern.

Foxhole (what a name)

Would the laid bit be OK there on the ground touching the patio though? Im assuming not. And would need to insted, raise it with plastic "shims?"

For dead flat n level. It needs to be at the ground on that side.
