decking screws removing

Any tips / tricks on removing decking screws without keep splitting the wood as the heads come out
need to make a few adjustments and get underneath decking

if they are below the surface and forced there without countersinking then you have little chance off clean removal without some lifting
you could try a plug cutter bit in a battery drill stopping say 3mm from the head depth

many thanks for the suggestion had this in mind but couldn't find any tools have purchased from toolstation as suggested ... appears to be working thanks to you and all with their responses appreciated
