Dell laptop won't start

Hi all we have a problem with the mrs laptop,it's a dell studio155
About 18 months old,and it won't start,in fact there's no sign of life
At all.
The blue charging light is on on the cable,and there's 3 lights on the battery
Itself when the little button is pressed.I've removed the battery,and the connectors seem ok,no debris at all,still theres no life at all
Anyone got any ideas?

could be many a thing but i've seen a few similar laptops with the same symptons as yours and it was a dead motherboard.

don't suppose you took out the 3yr warranty with dell when you bought it??

Nah fraid not,I would have expected it to last longer than 18 months
Though "not fit for purpose"springs to mind
