I have just applied Dulux High Gloss brilliant white to several internal doors, which all had yellowing. After reading this forum I think I should have applied Diamond Eggshell, which I shall be using for the remaining doors, particularly the Bathroom doors.
If I decide to repaint the doors treated with High Gloss with the Diamond Eggshell should I use undercoat first, bearing in mind these doors were only painted with Gloss - after an undercoat yesterday.
Thanks

Diamond eggshell is a water based paint so would require a good key to aid sticking directly over a high gloss paint. This means sanding with a fine sandpaper.
You could use another layer of oil based undercoat which should adhere well enough to a freshly glossed surface but I always prefer to sand lightly between all coats. If you can wait a couple of days it should be dry enough to sand lightly with 240 grit paper.

as said above for the ones you've already glossed.
for the others I wouldsuggest you rub them down and give them a coat or 2 of acrylic primer/undercoat to blind out the yellow, then a couple of coats of the acrylic egshell.........maybe 3 depending on how fussy you are. and get yourself a litre of floetrol- its makes the acrylic eggshell usable as it can be right pain otherwise.........and i know- just done doors and frames in it.

Thanks for your replies. Did them all again with the water-based undercoat and then the Diamond eggshell. Had no problems applying it to 11 doors/frames.
