Hi all,

I've got a Drayton Digistat +3 in the livivng room, controlling the c/h.
But whatever the temp is set at, the thermostat stops the c/h about 0.7°C short of the set temp.

eg, today the temp was set at 22.5° and I watched as the c/h was running then the thermostat clicked off at 21.8°.

I know I'm probably splitting hairs, but why doesn't it just stay on demand until it reaches the set temp?

It's fairly new, about 3 mths old.

Cheers,

Pete

Actually, it may be ok.

I just took the missus' car out for a spin, came back and presto, the room's at 22.5°. Maybe it does it in stages??

Not sure if the one you have does this, and while it might just be hard coded, it may have learnt that the room temp overshoots and be compensating; i.e. it might have started by switching off at the exact point, noted that the temperature kept rising by a certain amount, and be using an algorithm to back-off so that it hits the temp more accurately and saves some energy too. Smart thermostats will also learn how long it takes to get a room from one temp to another, and use that to determine when to trigger the boiler so as to reach a temperature by a certain time, as opposed simply to when start heating.
