Diverter valve sticking for central heating/hot water?

I have a Myson three position valve which seems to be sticking. I have replaced the motor as I thought this was the cause but although I can hear it whirring inside the casing it is not operating the valve and seems to be stuck in the central heating only mode. Is there any way that I can try unjam the valve before replacing it? Thanks

On some dvs there is a little manual lever on the side turn the system off and use this slide to work the valve it should slowly spring back to its default position when let go. but at a guess its probably replacement time.
