Hello all, I have a large bedroom at the front of my house that has two windows. I would like to divide this one room into two by having a small hallway with two doors leading off. Is there any reason that i would need planning permission or building regs certificate for this? Also am I mad for thinking that I can do the work myself?

Normally you need to follow the building regulations which is very straight forward. Go down to your local planning control and show them your rough drawing plan and they will advise you there & then. They will need to see if you can escape from the room in a event of a fire & some of other safely issue.

Well I am and I don't know how mad you are
