Does gas safe plumber do water works?

Who do you call if you have a leak in your water pipe or want to replace sanitary ware? Am I right in saying a gas safe fitter/plumber only deals with gas pipe? Are there alternative qualifications for those who deal with water pipes?

No. Call a plumber gas safe or not. Gas Safe just means he can work on your gas pipework and appliances, if that's what you require! However, some only WANT to work on gas (boiler fitting/servicing etc).
But try and get someone who comes recommended - local trade counter is a good place to ask!

If you get someone who just does gas work theyre known in the trade as dry plumbers
