Hi folks,

We recent bought a house that came with both oil central heating and a solid fuel range.

The range is plumbed through to the hot water cylinder however ...
When I light the range yesterday although the range was very hot to touch, the water coming through to the cylinder was lukewarm. I tried switching on the heating pump to see it that would help - but it made no difference.

Anyone familiar with this kind of setup - do I need a seperate hot water pump for the range?

Did one of the upstairs radiators (perhaps bathroom) become hot?

My wife (a country girl) reliably informed me that I didn't have't burning long enough. I will give it a proper test and see what happens.
