After checking my whole ground floor of my house I am unable to locate a drain valve.

Is it possible to drain the central heating system via a radiator?

I would guess you could use an existing radiator valve to do this, has anyone done it? Are there any tricks to avoid spillage of dirty water?

have a hose for this i made up

connect a lockshield or trv tail (the part you put into rad) to a garde n hose or coil of acorn pipe

disconnect rad and attach hose to valve, open valve to drain.

as for tricks to avoid water=towels/bog roll :D

If you have a 3/4 inch nut connecting your radiator valve, a washing machine valve will come in handy, it is 3/4 bsp one side and connects to 15mm copper tube the other which fits nicely up a garden hose.
