I'm trying to drain my system at home(following guidlines from sites like this one),but even when all the valves are open,there is no water coming from the hose at the lowest point.what am I doing wrong? how come no water is coming out?

Probably the jumper or washer jammed in the drain off. Iff you make a very small in the hose you may be able to move it with a small screwdriver.
