Had a new gravity fed shower installed which has a 10" shower head fed from a normal valve. Pipework runs to the valve then up to the shower head which comes straight out of the wall and bends down 90degrees to the shower head.

After the shower is switched off there is a period of about 10-20 mins where no water runs out, then we get a load of water coming from the head, then it stops.

There is no pump used with this set up.

Any plumber types care to have a go at what could be happening cause its damn annoying.

When you have finished showering, try spraying the shower head with shower spray. The one that stops the water marks on the screen.

its more likely the excess water left in the head/pipework that when air gets behind it the water releases.

Hertsdrainage` idea sounds a good one - that stuff might break the surface tension of the water ( on the glass screen) and also do the same to the water hanging on in the shower head  . N/R valve is no use ;)
