Well... I took the plunge.. Ordered the boards, battens and polystyrene insulation...

There's a few obvious mistakes so far which I'm going to rectify as I go (mainly the missing top plate... Plus an additional nogin as the room is taller than a 2400x1200 board)..

Can I just confirm (just to put my mind at ease!) it's better to work with battens at 400mm centres (from edge of the first board) for 12.5mm boards?

I also now see why so many people opt for dot/dab... But I'm hoping the extra effort to include the insulation will pay off...

One last question, it's not very clear in the included pic (i'll get a better one tomorrow) whats the easiest way to cover the RSJ you can just see?... I was thinking a batten on the wood below it and above it, with a little packing out (probably) I think it would work and leave the RSJ out of the equation..

Thanks

Rob
