Hi,

I have bought a second hand dimpled sp4 for additional heating - it has a 4 core flex

Blue, black, brown and yellow/green

I wanted to put a plug on it as I already have a double socket where it is to be hung, Is this possible? On the instructions it says it can also be hard wired but I don't know how to wire 4 in to a plug!!

All help appreciated

Thanks in advance

Hi, is it possible that the previous owner has replaced the cable ?

If you can see the connections inside the heater that would help. The black wire may not be in use, but you need to confirm that it's not connected inside the heater.
Before you power it up.
Regards,

DS

You are a genius, why did I not think to check before flapping!!

The black is not used inside

Thank you

DS, you lucky so-and-so!

AFAICR, I have never had a thank you kiss on the forum!

The black wire is a pilot wire that is used when you have several heaters all controlled by a special remote controller. SO you do not need it.

The instructions say that this wire must be insulated if it is not used. It must NOT be connected to earth!
