I'm hoping to fit electric underfloor heating under the carpet of the garage conversion I;m doing. The room is just shy of 6m x 2.6 I think floorspace. I was gong to get about 10m of underfloor heating, thinking I'd lay it covering 5m x 2m of the floor, not worrying about sides of the room perhaps where we're putting sofas etc.

My worry is, if I don't cover the unheated bits with furniture, will you see the join?

How thick is the pad itself, and the underlay that comes in the kit - is it important I get a bit more of that, so the underlay itself could be continuous?

Electric ufh is just a thin mesh usually used to take the chill of tiles.

Would be difficult to heat a room with it especially under carpet.

Unless there's a different type of electric ufh I'm not aware of

The tile mats are on a mesh for tile adhesive to set into, whereas the types for laminate and carpet are on a more continuous foil mat
