Engineered door or solid hardwood

I am looking to buy a new wood front door, I was thinking to get a solid hardwood door but not many around and the general info i read on the engineered doors say they are better for resisting warping etc...crap or fact ?? which is best for Edinburgh weather?
anyone local got one for sale ?
