I have a Eurostar 70/90 Boiler, which is about 20 years old

Recently developed a fault, where some times the motor buzz buzzes when trying to start and then locks out. If i remove the fan cover and give the fan a flick with a screw driver while buzzing the motor will spin into action.

However when running there is a fairly rough sounding noise....

Is the motor shot ?
Is the shaft a little stiff ?

this has been on and off for few months, it can go weeks starting and stopping and then as it is now refuse to start !!
Thanks

See how free the motor is to turn.....if its mobile enough then it may just need a new capacitor.
Bearing replacement (6202ZZ) is pretty easy too.
John :)

Thanks, ill take the fan blades off and check the movement. It sounds fairly rough when running so probably motor bearings then.
