Hi everyone,

Had a quick search, but can't find a solution in old forum posts.

My cast iron soil pipe is connected to the external wall about 18 inches below the gutter/facias. I need to extend it... it occasionally smells, especially when the adjacent windows are open.

Builders Merchant offered me a cobbled together solution, involving large jubilee clips and various connectors, but suggested it would be difficult... and he'd never succeeded himself.

Could anyone please tell me if there's a solution out there?

Thanks

The rubber coupling will adapt iron to plastic, but i'd remove at least some of the top section of iron, then go to plastic. Gives you a chance to anchor the plastic to the wall, I wouldn't rely on the collar to hold anything in place, especially if you're planning on fitting an offset. Might only be plastic but it will still hurt if it hits someone on the head.....
