Exterior gloos for masonry?

I need to paint my window sills. Is there a special masonry gloss or does normal exterior gloss suffice?

I was going to use masonary paint, but am not sure how to strip the existing flakey paint?

No, I did this 1st time round - the sills get filthy, you need gloss to repel the dirt which settles on them
