Hi,
I am fitting a timed extractor fan in my bathroom and a 2nd in my kitchen which I have a question about, as always very much appreciate any advice you guys can give. In the kitchen I have three core and earth running from the light fitting to roughly the position of where the extractor fan will be, is it a requirement to fix an isolating switch (or on / off switch) for the extractor fan or is it sufficient just to wire it up from the light directly? Are there any different requirements for the extractor fan in the bathroom (a 3 core and earth cable has already been laid between the bathroom light and the extractor fan location)?
Thanks for any help you can give.
Cheers,
Aaron

Thanks for that, doc and isolator switch link are great.
As my extractor fan will have to be positioned high up the wall, but above the bath, then I think I'm going to have to buy a new one that's IP44 rathed then?!? And my isolatin switch is going to have to be somewhere where you can't reach it whilst stood in the bath... hmmmm!
