hi folks, i am fitting some fairly cheap felt backed carpet into a house i am renting out. I have done all of the bedrooms no problem with no underlay and spray adhesive at the edges.

I am about to tackle the stairs and have been told that i should use grippers on he stairs instead of glue because it tucks the carpet safely and neatly at the corners.

Is glue acceptable on the stairs or should I use grippers as advised? Also are there special grippers for felt backed and if so are they given a special name?

Any help will be much appreciated.
