Fence posts in postcrete

I've heard a tip from someone that when putting fence posts up, always bang in some galvanised nails into the bottom of the post (coming out of the sides) so that when you pour in the postcrete or concrete and it sets, the nails embed into the concrete.
It seems to make sense - but do you guys agree or is this a bad technique

concrete posts last much longer, do not rot, and do not need nails.
