i am about to make a close board fence
question is what do i use to fasten the boards ? do i buy a nail gun ? if so what one ? what size nails would i need as the boards are 1/2 thick and im attaching them to a 3"x2" rail
any help would be greatfull

depends how much you have to do really. we use a coil nailer working off a compressor, but then we do lots of it. If its short length then a hammer is still quite quick, otherwise hire one out. We normally use 40-50mm galvanised ring shank (annular) nails
