I can go on my local council website and find Planning applications.

Is there a way to find what BC notices have been issued for properties, other than spending over a £100 on a local search ?

Thanks

One assumes that there are works you have spotted that you think would need approval? You can always ask the sellers via the agent, if you are not in direct contact.

You can always ring Building control directly and ask, some Building Control departments are more helpful than others, as long as you say ‘what approvals if any do you have for this property’ rather than actually saying ‘it’s had an extension (or whatever) and I want to know whether it had approval’. Then you won’t scupper the chances of getting an indemnity insurance which your solicitor may ask for if it has had works and they are illegal and is a pointless waste of money anyway.
