Fitting 140mm mixer to holes 180mm off centre

Hi,
Because wrong planning....I am wondering if there is any way to fit bath/shower mixer which is 140mm pipes centre, to the bath with holes 180 mm off centre. Some reduction chrome elbow...?

Are you sure the tap centres are 140mm ?
 
Theoretically I'm sure it can be done, but by the time you've bought the necessary chrome pipe and fittings to mackle it together it'll start getting quite expensive, and the result will almost certainly be hideous. Much better to take the new mixer back to where you got it from and get one that fits.

You could, I suppose, drill the holes in the correct place then get a piece of white acrylic cut to the same shape as the bottom of your mixer, but with extensions at either end to cover the old holes. This would probably look marginally less hideous and should be considerably cheaper.

140mm is an odd spacing, normally it's either 150mm or 180mm
