Hi all,

Silly question from me.

I have a security chain to fit to a 'Door Stop' composite door. I've never liked to drill into a compo door. Shall I simply drill small pilot holes as I would for a hardwood door?

Thanks.

ERA sell doorchains suitable for plastic doors. They have unusually large screws to compensate for the material being weaker than wood. Available in brass or chrome finishes.

Wickes probably have them, they sell lots of ERA products, some in own-brand packaging, and they are on Ebay.

I don't think the large screws would fit the holes in an ordinary chain plate.
