Fixing fence posts with bolt down method

I need to fix a 4 foot high picket fence along the top of an existing low wall. Is it ok to use the metapost bolt down method into the brickwork for fixing the posts.
And if so, would it be preferable to have intermediate posts at say 4 or 5 foot intervals.
