I'm going to try to repair my leaking garage roof in a few weeks time.

Its a tiled roof but it only has a shallow pitch. The previous owner had never cleaned the gutter and the first strip of felt has rotted in several places.
This was causing the roof to leak from the out side edge as soon as the gutter was full. Since cleanging the gutter its now much better. I still get some leakage during heavy rain via the holes in the felt. Now I understand that the felt is a secondard barrier but because of the shallow pitch it relies on it during heavy wind and rain.

So I need to remove the bottom 3 rows of tiles, remove the battons and replace the felt. I've never done this before so I need to know,

What type of felt to buy?
What type of nails to buy?
Do I need to use any type of sealent around the egde?
Anything else to bear in mind?

Just a quick mini guide would be excellent,

Thanks

Btw I have got myself a second hand scaffold tower

:D
