Gardtec 300 - outside bell is not sounding

This Gardtec 300 system appears to be working OK but the outside alarm doesn't sound when the system is tested; although the inside sounder works alright. Is the battery in the outside bell requiring replacement? Can the outside box just simply be opened for changing the battery, or does the tamper have to be set? I don't have a manual.

Yes it may have a battery, yes it may have a tamper if installed correctly, but these will not be the issue of the bell not sounding unless it's an scb unit , but probably not. Faulty sounder or bell trip wire. If the bell rings when you remove the lid it's the wire , if not it's some other issue.
