Hello,

Main bathroom shower barely has enough hot water for one short shower after gas boost has been on for an hour but water is still hot in kitchen / ensuite etc.

It is slightly better with immersion on for one hour but still results in a very short shower, very hot water for very short time, while water is hot elsewhere in the house.

The temperature is also hard to control and the shower has a boost unit for pressure.

Any ideas what’s happening here? The landlord said that they had the gas system serviced prior to our moving and admitted the shower wasn’t great but as it is it’s basically unusable.

Any ideas what might be going on here - the gas seems to work well everywhere else for water / heat.

Thanks

If you have a stored hot water supply, which your reference to an immersion heater indicates that you do, and all of the hot water points (problem shower, kitchen , ensuite, etc.) are all connected to it, then it's working OK, otherwise the other taps etc., would also not be warm enough either.

If so, what needs investigating is the shower itself. The mixing of the hot and cold is not as it should be, either too much cold, or not enough hot. There are lots of reasons why this might be. This could be due to a restriction in a pipe, incorrect plumbing, faulty shower mixer, or the power shower pump.

Some showers have an integral strainer which can get clogged with scale etc over time - another thing to add to Stems helpful post.
