Posting on behalf of a friend...

He has finished renovating / building his house.
Some cavity walls he rebuilt, the insulation wasn't very good, so where he could he put in new insulation...
So, over 3 walls the insulation is "patchy", he said he wasn't fussed as he would get it filled at a later date.....

Anyway, he has had British Gas and 2 other companies round to see about getting it pumped full of insulation and they said they can't do it as there is already some insulation in there and they can't mix it...

He has phoned many other places and they all say the same, they can't mix the insulation...

So, what can he do ?
Can he do it himself, is there a product that IS safe to mix with other insulation..?

Many Thanks

The problem is cavity wall insulation will only blow into free space, if it is obstructed by other insulation it won't fill all the voids.
